"Born Annoyed" - Ch 3 - "1946 - The Bully"

Our neighborhood  near 8th and Jay in St. Clair , Mi had a bully;   His name was Billy Eggars.  He was about 8 or 9. I was about 4 yrs old.  My sister Nancy was about 5&1/2. One summer day she came home
crying  her face covered with blood,  She said Billy had hit her in the nose.  Mother took her in the bathroom to clean her up.  I went in the kitchen and got the biggest knife in the drawer, a butcher knife--
Mother had told us never to run with knives or sissers  and to point it  toward the ground when you
walked.   I walked out the door as fast as I could with the knife pointed toward the ground, ( the
knife so big that it  almost touched the ground.) ( Me a 4 yr. old toe-head.)  I saw Billy running ahead of me, running towards his house at 9th and Adams.  He was running like the dickons and I had to walk as fast as I could.  By the time that I reached his house he was inside with the door locked.  I pounded on the door, but he looked out and saw me with the big knife and wouldn't come to the door.  I walked home ---then got in trouble for having the bucher knife.  After that day Mother would tie me to the cloths line -
so I could run up and down like a dog ! but I was unable to leave the yard.  The good news was that Billy never hurt Nancy again.
About 50 Years later , Bill apologized  to Nancy for being a bully and Nancy accepted his apologies.

"Born Annoyed" Ch. 2

--"Born Annoyed"  Ch 2

1945 - The War is over.  My Uncles all came home:  Art, Herb, Chuck, Frank,  Warren Stubbs and John Bell.

Mother invited everyone to our house on 8th and Jay St. in St.Clair,  for a Christmas/ Victory  party -- Grandpa and Grandma Stubbs, and all their Sons and all the wives and girlfriends.  Aunt Eleanor played Christmas Carols on the old up-right piano and everyone sang.  Everyone was so happy.  Happy and so relieved--tear-type relieved.  And there were unfamiliar hugs and kisses.  Uncle Warren brought Nancy and I silk  Hawaiian shirts and Uncle Herb brought Nancy and I gold crosses.

In the spring--- - My brother Joe was born.  He was a beautiful and good baby.  Mother cried.  I asked why she was crying?
She said that she didn't want Joe to go to war.
Dad hired Mrs. Nixon to come to the house to help out.  Then the  house was clean and and the dishes done.

"Born Annoyed" Ch. 1

"Born Annoyed"  is going to be the title of my Autobiography.

Chapter 1--  I was born the year that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.  WWII.
Mother would rock me in the big rocker in her bedroom and nursed  me.  And Sing-
"Oh dear what can the matter be, Dear, Dear what can the matter be, Oh dear what can
the matter be Johnny's so long at the fair.  He promised to buy me a bunch of blue ribbons,
He promised to buy me a bunch of blue ribbon,  He promised to buy me a bunch of blue
ribbons to tie in my bonnie brown hair".  (repeat)  This song was written to instill the
nagging dark cloud of worry.   (My Dad's name was Johnny)

Another song, (from the civil war period) that she sang, - "  Johnny, oh Johnny please let me go-
with you."
"No , -no my love no."This song was written to make you feel sad and
create the agony of separation.
This was the back drop  for feeling annoyed before I was off the breast.

Mom took me off the breast and put me on the bottle when I started to bite.  But how else was I to let her know that her choices of songs were dreary.

I was placed in a crib,  in a small room off my parents bedroom.  It had a small window but
it got very hot in the summer.  Before I was a year old I learned  how to climb out of the crib--
I would scooch my diapered  bottom up the end of the crib,  throw my legs over the railing
and slide down  the bars.  Mother  would tie one leg and one arm to the bars to keep me in bed.
I cried,   "Mama, Mama."   But no one came.  I cried and cried, until I could cry no more.  Then
exhausted I layed quiet.  Wet with tears.
I still can remember hearing the dogs bark, the crickets chirp, and the mourning doves  crying.
There I was, tied down and  making the best of being annoyed.  I began to learn how not to feel.

Mother cried every day.  She cried when she was canning peaches.  She cried when she was doing laundry, in the garage on the old wringer wash machine.   When she scrubbed the floor ,  the big
brown radio would be on with the organ music and soap operas, and she would be crying.
I asked my Mother why she cried every day...She said, " Because I read the back pages of the paper."
"Estimated number of casualties;  The rumors of the Concentration camps."

The little boys made airplanes out of sticks and they bombed the dirty Japs, and made noise of
explosions.  The girls bandaged their dolls. The children that played and the adults that talked
recovered the best.

Mother's Brother, John Bell was in the Navy in the South Pacific.  And Dad's brothers--
Art, Chuck, Frank, Herb, and Warrenie were in the Service.  Mother had a big map of the World
on the wall in the living room.  She had colored pins on the map--showing where all my
Uncles were stationed.   All  the Stubbs Boys  came home.  The term"Post Trauma Stress Disorder",
wasn't used then,  maybe just "Shell-Shock".  They went to work, when they got home.
Dad's best advice was always--"Get to work."

CONDO CORRUPTION

How does Condo Corruption work?  A mean crazy corrupt President can keep getting re-elected by :

Passing out bogus fines- -and when the fines are not paid the owners are not allowed to vote.  ( She knows
who doesn't like her.}  The witch has all the absentee ballots  either faxed or mailed to her office.
Then She has the power to throw out the ones with the "fines"--not allowing their vote to count.
The Old Witch goes to the pool in the summer to make sure the Owners are with their guests , and yells
and says she will call the police unless the Owners are with their quests.  She is mean in many ways
to the people that know she is mean/crazy/and corrupt and stealing.

She is tied in with the Management company in stealing money and the Management Company
is tied in with organized crime.  It is a multi-million $$ scam.  They get away with it because every-one
that could bring about justice is bribed and or threatened.  They even have an attorney that is corrupt.
And the local "condo-authority-attorney"  is in on the scam and makes a great living pretending he is
representing the Condo Owners.  But is actually tied in with the Mafia.

My neighbor who is gone know, Jack,  Asked, "Didn't I know that the Mafia built the condos to
steal money?"

Where are the good people?  Get on it!!

OCCUPY

"HARK! HARK! THE DOGS DO BARK .
THE BEGGARS ARE COMING TO TOWN.

SOME IN VELVET GOWNS."

CASH KICK BACKS

ENTRAPMENT is against the law.  Whoever made this law must have been  evil.

Multi Million/Billions  $$$  are stolen  by  condo management companies.  Someone on the Board is
dishonest.  Organized Crime shows how to set up a cash-kick-back scheme---- then the mafia gets a slice of the pie, and the dishonest board member gets a slice of the pie.  EG.  "I'll give you the snow removal
contract if you give me  X amount of dollars in cash back."  This scheme cannot be traced by opening the
books.  State law state that the books must be open to the Owners and prospective buyers---in other-words -- everyone.   The cash kick-back scheme cannot be traced through the books.  It appears that only
through entrapment can the crime be stopped.

Entrapment should be legalized.

You can not entrap an honest person because they can't be entrapped until they break the law...
thus a dishonest person.

Hello!    CHANGE THE LAW.
WALK----But not on cement.  RUN---but not on paved roads.    SPRINT--but not on terrazzo .
If your coach wants you to run --  Ask where?  Ask for a good track,  ask for a dirt road,  ask for an
unpaved trail, ask to run on the board-walk.  Because you know if you run on an unforgivng surface
your joints will ache, and small bones in your feet break.  Run for good health.  Run to win.
Running shoes are great.

How is Addis Habtewold doing?  He was St.Clair's State Champ in Track and Field.
He was assaulted  August 8, 2011, in Marysville.  The Michigan State Police, a month after the crime, were assigned the case by Mike Wendling.   How is Addis doing?  Have the head-aches stopped?
Has justice been served?   Let the public know.   Everyone speaks highly of Addis.  We want to know.

Thank You - President Barack Obama and John Wayne

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA AND JOHN WAYNE.  YOU GOT THE BAD GUYS.  THANK YOU.  THANK YOU!

To The Republican Party--
You would complain if you were hung with a new rope.

Fences

John E. Stubbs  worked  in the Sears Fencing Dept. after years of running his Mobile Gas Station in
St. Clair, Michigan.   Dad said, "Fences -  never kept  anyone  or anything in or  out."  Dad made a living for years selling fencing to people who thought otherwise.

I heard one Mexican comedian say,
If the U.S. decides to build a fence across the Mexican border - I
wonder who they will get to build it???   If they put a moat in front of the fence and filled the moat with
alligators,  within 2 weeks the Mexicans  would be selling alligator belts and purses  at roadside stands.

If U.S. doesn't get the lack of Jobs Crises solved, U.S. unemployed might start going to Mexico for jobs.
At least it would be warmer.  Hope they decide not to build a fence--just in case.

It was about 1944, or 1945.  My family went to Canada for Don and Harriets wedding.  It took place
on the old family farm near Brigdon.  The  farm house was an early American 2 story with the porch
running across the front complete with rocking chairs and chickens dusting themselves under the porch.
The chairs from the funeral home were placed in rows with an isle running down the middle for the
bride.  We sat near the front.  We were waiting for the bride to come out of the front door when the
elastic in my underpants broke.  (I was about four years old.)  Without thinking I went to the front door,
and was met by the bride.  I ask her if she had a safety pin.  She said ,"No, Go sit down."  I went
back and sat down and had to hold up my underpants  all through the wedding.  Right after the
Minister said,"I pronounce you Man and Wife, and Don was kissing Harriet, Someone yelled out,
"The hogs are out." Everyone except the old and the babies got up from the wedding and ran
toward the hog pen.   It took a while,  but the hogs were rounded up and the hog pen mended.
It's hard to keep hogs in a pen.  They burrow under and smash through.
After they got the hogs corraled,  Uncle Joe started fiddling and the couples squared off in the drive-way.
"Dive for the Oyster",  "Dose-E-Do", "Virginia Reel".

But like Dad said," Fences never kept anyone or anything in or out.

The Sunset Kennel for Old Dogs

This one old dog , Paul, had a history of con games.  White Collar crime.  One story was that he and his
Mother,  Mary,  bought Hundreds of dollars of new furniture from a good honest businessman in our
small town.  Paul & Mary charged the furniture to the store's  house account.  Then never made a single
payment.  The furniture lost value while in use.  The story goes ...they got away with it.
Another story -- Mary and her son Paul had a 4 unit condo built-- by a reputable builder, received the
occupancy permit from city hall before the last payment  of $50,000. was made.  They did not make their final payment .  The builder took Mary & Paul
to court.   The builder won his law-suit, and collected his final $50,000.  Mary and Paul's bad reputation had preceded  them to court.  With the court order the builder received his final payment.

The  sick story of the" Sunset Kennel for Old Dogs".
Every dog that worked there was trained to have a
sweet veneer .  The kennel was situated  in an area of high pollutions---

a blatant disregard for good health.
The old dogs that had lost their memory were fed rotten food.
I suppose because it was cheaper.  I would like to give Paul and his Mother tee-shirts
that read--"I cheat, I lie, I steal, I poison old dogs without memories, and I GET AWAY WITH IT."

High Risk Sports

Playing High Risk Sports is like playing Russian Roulette as a hobby.

Do we all pay higher Insurance premiums because of high risk sports?

What a gamble--$7 million dollars or a chance on death.

All of you reading this, not $7 Million richer--but alive.

Racing --high speeds, 220 miles an hr. , too many cars (34) on the track.

Dan Wheldon --Dead.  Sadness.  Grief.

Question Authority.   High Risk  sports, Including football,  auto racing,  wars-- Lets rethink-
" What is a good idea ?".

High risk sports etc. are stupid.

Did you ever ask yourself--WHY?

The other day I was at  my local bank.  A big tall burly man was at a window.  He had a big white rat
on his shoulder.....with a pink collar.  As he turned to leave I asked, "Is that a rat?"  "Yes."  He replied.  "Does she have a
name?'  I queried.  "Pettulia;  She is my friend,  My only friend."  I couldn't help my response.  "Did
you ever ask yourself---WHY?"

Egypt - 1/30/11 - 10:00 a.m.

My thought and prayers are with the good people of Egypt. The cell phones were key in organizing
the protests against corruption. Cell phones shut down; Then upon Pres. Obama's request --Restored????? No.
The signs of hope for the down-trodden. Hopefully, President Mubarak will soon be leaving Egypt.
Hopefully followed by an election without corruption. Hopefully democracy.

Why does the U.S. borrow money from China to give to Egypt ?

Bill O'/1950's

Bill O' and his wife , Annette , had apx. 6 children. Bill was a salesman. He seldom made enough money to pay for both the groceries and the rent. They would get behind on their rent, get evicted, and move. Finally no one would rent to them. They had to move out of town.
My Dad, John E. Stubbs, had a gas station on the River. Bill O' had a running balance on his in-house account. On the day to move out of town, He went to see Dad. Dad filled his tank with gas, on credit ; Then Bill asked Dad if he could put on 4 new tires-- on credit. Dad put on the new tires........Knowing full well that he probably never would get paid.
When Dad was asked why he gave Bill the new tires on credit ... Dad said, " Had I not put on the tires, He probably wouldn't have been able to leave town. (An Irish tease.)
Also Dad said Annette sang in church, and for that she never got paid .
The old timers can still remember when Annette sang, "Rock of Ages," from the balcony, at
church. It was heavenly.
