"Born Annoyed" Ch. 2

--"Born Annoyed"  Ch 2

1945 - The War is over.  My Uncles all came home:  Art, Herb, Chuck, Frank,  Warren Stubbs and John Bell.

Mother invited everyone to our house on 8th and Jay St. in St.Clair,  for a Christmas/ Victory  party -- Grandpa and Grandma Stubbs, and all their Sons and all the wives and girlfriends.  Aunt Eleanor played Christmas Carols on the old up-right piano and everyone sang.  Everyone was so happy.  Happy and so relieved--tear-type relieved.  And there were unfamiliar hugs and kisses.  Uncle Warren brought Nancy and I silk  Hawaiian shirts and Uncle Herb brought Nancy and I gold crosses.

In the spring--- - My brother Joe was born.  He was a beautiful and good baby.  Mother cried.  I asked why she was crying?
She said that she didn't want Joe to go to war.
Dad hired Mrs. Nixon to come to the house to help out.  Then the  house was clean and and the dishes done.
