"Victoria" PBS

I love the Masterpiece Theater.  Tonight , the show made a reference to Queen Victoria being

depressed after child-birth.  I read years ago in a British Journal of Medicine that the

depression is not the result of child-birth but the result of giving up nursing too  soon.

The hormones are raging --too produce a child ,  to give birth,  then if the nursing is ended

too  soon the hormones/chemical changes to the mother  is like trying to stop a locomotive

going down-hill........  trying to stop the natural process of nursing can throw the mother

into deep depression.    And if the Mother does not have loving/kindness close-- the

depression is worse.

Nursing the newborn and supportive people  would be the best cure.
