This is what I told Dad, (John E. Stubbs), He was reading the Port Huron Times Herald,
in front of the 8"cabinet style" T. V. --sitting in the big red rocker. He kept reading.
"Dad! Dad! ----" The house is on fire!" ""O.K., O.K. ----I'm coming."
Dad walked calmly to the kitchen. The wall behind the "Ben Franklin" stove had caught on fire.
Dad got the axe, that was in the wood shed , and and chopped the wall down, then got the
fire extinguisher and put out the fire.
The next day he had a brick wall and platform built to replace the wall and platform
for the Ben Franklin stove.
